Inn Keeper Manager

Summary

The full-time/seasonal position of Inn Keeper Manager will be responsible for overseeing all operations of front office and reservations, dining room, and housekeeping. The Inn Keeper Manager will ensure service quality is excellent, employees adhere to services and safety standards, while frequently performing supervisory or other duties as necessary.

Job Duties

  • Oversee and engage in service and operation of Ceilidh Country Lodge Front Desk and reservations, breakfast, and the operation of Ceilidh’s housekeeping department, to ensure room and guest area cleanliness, and property functionality and aesthetics are to Ceilidh’s standards
  • Engage daily with guests, build a rapport, and act as a Ceilidh brand ambassador, providing them with information about local area, attractions and events, and mitigating complaints when required to ensure guest satisfaction and recognize trends, successes and areas of opportunity
  • Attract, train, retain, motivate, support, evaluate and manage all employees to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to provide the service as specialized to Ceilidh
  • Plan seasonal opening and closing of the entire Ceilidh property to ensure the successful transition for staff and guests and to ensure the longevity, cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetics of the property are maintained year over year
  • Manage Ceilidh bus tour bookings by soliciting business, finalizing contracts, inputting rooming lists, and finalizing invoices
  • Manage the stock of products needed for the property and control ordering through various suppliers to ensure employees have their required products to service guests’ needs
  • Monitor room sales, average daily rates, and occupancy rates and actively drive sales through packaging, upgrades, etc. to ensure profitability and adherence to labour and food cost targets
  • Maintain open communication with other department heads, including those at Inverary Resort, to ensure successful delivery of Ceilidh services
  • Be continually aware of, and enforce, the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • A certificate or diploma in a related field preferred
  • (2) years of customer service experience in a hotel setting and (2) years supervisory/management experience, or equivalent experience
  • (2) years of food service experience and (2) years of sales experience preferred
  • Creativity, and innovation, as well as exceptional troubleshooting, problem-solving, conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills to ensure all client and guests requests, are fulfilled and resolved to the Resort’s standards
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively and lead a team in a diverse working environment
  • Exceptionally proactive, with great time-management, and able to work effectively with minimal supervision to ensure all duties are fulfilled in a timely and professional manner
  • Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, manage and prioritize multiple deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail and organization
  • Demonstrated accountability, dependability and reliability to ensure a commitment to excellence, confidentiality, and standards
  • Computer literate, including effective working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and e-mail – experience with Five Star Hotel Systems a definite asset.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer, clean, maintain and stock dining room, and to walk/survey the Ceilidh property daily
  • Varying shifts, including mornings, evenings, and weekends; overtime as required
  • Seasonal work
  • Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enters and prepares the room for cleaning.
  • Makes bed.
  • Dusts the room and furniture.
  • Replenishes guestroom and bath supplies.
  • Cleans the bathroom.
  • Vacuums, sweeps and mops.
  • Washes and properly stores bath and room linens.
  • Checks and secures the rooms.
  • Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
  • Attends to guest calls, guest requests /guest complaints in the area assigned to her/him.
